Pantene – Mencari Bintang with Siti

Just had a chance to watch this show last evening. Quite a long list of pretty girls I must say. This is a programme said to be inspired and mooted by Siti Nurhaliza herself. The idea for Siti Nurhaliza Mencari Bintang Pantene came about while she was shooting a Pantene commercial. “During the shoot, I remembered my early days when I started in the entertainment business (in the late 1990s). That was when I realised that a reality show would be a great platform for Malaysian women to find out what it’s like to be all that they can be,” she said in Bahasa Malaysia.

That intriguing premise had hundreds of girls, aged between 18 and 25, responding to the first call for auditions in Malacca, Johor Baru, Penang and Kuala Lumpur last month and earlier this month. Out of this audition, 10 were picked and placed in the Pantene House at an undisclosed location in Kuala Lumpur and they face challenges and tests weekly that will give them the chance to show Siti and the other judges what they’re made of. They will stay there for 3 months together. Of course, viewers will get to watch every grin and grimace, every bonding session and cat fight, along the way, too! Like last evening’s episode, they were challenged to a task of operating a go-kart. But somehow one of the contestants went off track and went into the pile of tyres. This has been the grounds on which the judges eliminated her..poor girl..but she’s not that cute anyway…haha..quite amazonian for a girl participating in a contest like this. ;-D

It has only been my first episode but I already know who my favourite is..haha..It has to be the cute and chirpy Rusdiana binti Rusdi. Sweet, angelic and super confident. The same for Nur Shaznida binti Hassan. I do hope she will win. Somehow the other male species in the public have more votes for Rafidah. Well to be fair, she’s nevertheless has the winning characters and the solid spirit to succeed in any tasks given to her..My rating is 4 out 5, compared to 3R which I gave only 2 in terms of cute girls..Sorry Tini and Rafidah..these girls are out of your league..But in terms of content and usefulness, 3R is a definite runaway winner, without a single doubt. The winner at the end of the show will be declared the Pantene Star and join other Pantene stars such as Waheeda, Maya Karin and Camelia.

 

Nurshaznida is a student currently studying in UiTM, Shah Alam, majoring in Business Studies. She has appeared in several publications before as a model. She has been working hard in the showbiz scene and pantene show has been her biggest break so far. Earlier activities include Gadis Harian Metro. All the best to her in the show.
