Eversince the couple came out in the open about their engagement on 14th January 2007, news is abuzz about their impending marriage. Now the news has it that the wedding of the beloved Bollywood couple, Abhishek and Aishwarya is set to be on the 20th of April 2007. Rajasthan will be the place, while Umaid Bhavan Palace might be the venue for the much awaited wedding. Sources said that Abhishek Bachchan has sent two of his friends to finish the initial formalities of booking the Hotel. Besides Umaid Bhavan, four more hotels at Jodhpur and Jaisalmer will be booked. Before that though, Umaid Bhavan will play host to the much talked about post-wedding parties of Hurley and Nayar. However alternative sources mentioned that due to peak season in Jodhpur, the venue has been shifted to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh or Jaipur. “They want to hold the wedding ceremonies in a heritage property. So they are now looking for a city that can provide them with the required setting. Gwalior and Jaipur seem to be the frontrunners,” a hotel source told.

The wedding card comes in a big box, with three parts tied together with a ribbon.The first contains the invite while the second contains 24 pieces of a special mithai made with chocolate imported from Switzerland and the third box contains a Ganesh idol.The card also has the emblem ‘AA’ embossed on red in white gold. Nice isn’t it! The second page of the card has Lord Ganesh embossed on it, followed by a few shlokas printed in golden letters. The third page has a Hindi poem written by late poet and Amitabh’s father Harivanshrai Bachchan while the fourth and fifth pages contain the actual invitation to the wedding at Prateeksha, in Hindi and English.The fifth and sixth pages give out the ceremonial details of the sangeet ceremony on April 18 and the wedding on the 20th. And the last page has the names of the members of the Bachchan and Rai family, along with those of close friend and SP leader Amar Singh and family. For a personal touch, each card has been signed by the parents of the bride and groom.

I just find this so odd…all of a sudden the Big B Jr getting married to Aish. Well actually the story is that Abhishek and Ash fell in love while making the movie “Umrao Jaan” (currently showing on Astro Box Office). It is a beautiful and very sad movie. Must say Ab and Ash look fabulous together in it especially since they wear gorgeous clothes from that era.

What is strange to me is that a wedding that concerns 4 of the biggest stars of India has such a small guest list of people in the industry ,People who helped make all their careers. They are either cheap or ungrateful. I hope those they do not invite give them no work because they will deserve it.You cannot be part of something and when a big event in your life happens you totally snob most of it.

Hi, Have been a fan of bollywood films all along. Sahara NCR hv been doing a great job to get what ever coverage possible of the wedding of the year. It is sad the way the Bachans has handled the whole wedding. They are public figures, what achievements they have are due to their fans locally and internationally. If they wanted such an isolated wedding better not be celebrities. When u r celebrities, the public is a part of your lives, without which you are ZERO. I feel what the public wanted worldwide was just a glimpse of the new married couple. Nothing new of their faces as we see them in movies all the time but the a real life wedding is something that does not take place everyday and the public did not deserve this. Would it have done any harm is just giving a few shots to the Sahara NCR to show to the world?
If the Bachan’s family wanted such a hidden affair then they should have put Abhishek and Aishwarya is guni sacks to go to the temples, so that NO ONE WILL SEE THEM!!! What is so secretive when the whole world knows u all are getting married? Giving one or two shots for the public would not have brought any bad luck for your kundalis!
