Everheard of Sudoku? It’s a wildly entertaining puzzle game that has caught the world by storm. It’s in the national papers and all over the world. It’s just the same fad that Pokemon brought to us. Sudoku is a nice thinking game, very easy to understand and play. The objective of the game is to fill a 9×9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes contains the digits from 1 to 9. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid. The modern puzzle was invented by an American, Howard Garns, in 1979 and published by Dell Magazines under the name “Number Place”. It became popular in Japan in 1986, when it was published by Nikoli and was given the name Sudoku. It became an international hit in 2005. My friend actually bought a book costing her more than RM5, containing more than hundreds of this great puzzle just to test her mind whenever she has free time. It has become almost like a passion to her. You will enjoy the game if you know the strategy and beat your friend in terms of speed in solving the puzzle.
