Despite coming under heavy attacks in the early stages of its development especially on their designs and technical capabilities, Advertlets has come out strong and able to put a crucial and fearful challenge to other local blog advertising network (Hiii Ming & Timothy, how are you? ;-D). I guess I could say that Advertlets has grown by leaps and bounds to have all the right quality makes of a Champion. At this point, I can honestly say that I am proud for what Josh has done to the company and from our few but exciting email exchanges, I can feel Josh’s seriousness with his pet project and has the right leadership skills to take Advertlets to a higher level position where it belongs. I first knew about Advertlets on HongKiat‘s blog, but didn’t quite bother to try out the service until I was pretty settled with some revamping work of my other secret blog, hehe..

Advertlets - Malaysia's New Blog Advertising Network

So, what is exactly Advertlets? It’s a blog advertising network just like Federated Media, B5 Media and Blogads.com network in the states, but the special thing about Advertlets is that it’s Malaysian and it’s one the 1st Asian Blog Advertising Networks, but currently focussed on serving ads to the Malaysian market (like you see at the top right corner of this blog). The best part is that the ad being served is so targeted not only to a certain demographics such as age group, male or female but it’s also can distinguish specific geographical location such as Johor and Kuala Lumpur. So a makcik in JB can advertise her NASI LEMAK only to those visitors coming from Johor. If visitors are from KL, the most likely ad would be Restoran Tupai-Tupai etc..haha..just giving some lame examples. I guess Advertlets have soul to it and a power analytical mind to speak to its visitors. This is done through a poll done by blog visitors. Other services that Advertlets provide to advertisers especially if:

  • You’re a new restaurant, and you’ll like more people to know about your restaurant and try out your food e.g. KFC “Tak Makan Nasi Ke?”
  • You’re organizing an event/party, and you’ll like to generate some pre-event buzz to encourage people to come PIKOM event, Wedding Fairs, Careers Exhibition etc.
  • You have a new product to sell – And you’ll like to promote it further e.g. new handphone, Hotlink, Digi FUYOH etc.
  • You provide services, such as design or decoration, and you’ll like people to know e.g. IKEA annual sale, Malaysia annual sale, Radio Era new presenters, programmes, ASTRO Akademi Fantasia, new programme on TV3 etc.
  • You are a recording company and you have an artist that is releasing a new album soon. You can have it advertised on Malaysian blogs.
  • You are a movie producer and will be releasing a new movie, why not advertise to Malaysian market through blog network?

The list is actually endless. Josh, why not package your service with some well known big ads companies such O&M, Spencer Azizul, Saatchi & Saatchi? Persuade them on the worth of your service and get them to include Advertlets as part of their deal with their advertising clients. May be can do a market testing first with them?
