It’s confirmed, the Hilton Hotel Heiress, Paris Hilton, has been sentenced to 45 days in prison for violating her probation in relation to a drunk-driving arrest last September in which her driving licence got suspended. The hotel heiress was spotted driving along Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on one particular night without her headlights on, according to police reports. Officers pulled Hilton over in her Bentley convertible and found she was driving with a suspended license - the result of her drink driving arrest last September. She later pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was placed on probation. Hilton’s publicist Elliot Mintz insists he and his client were unaware that her driving license had been suspended.

But Nick Velasquez, spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, tells People magazine, “We have sufficient evidence to prove that Hilton had knowledge of the suspension, and yet continued to drive.” Paris must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, no use of an alternative jail and no electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing. She will be serving her jail term in women’s penitentiary in suburban Lynwood.

I think Paris Hilton should not go to jail because of her status in society and for her safety. I think she should pay a hefty fine and sentenced to “Home Confinement” instead. The judge was “TOTALLY” out of order by sending her to jail. I also agree that she was discriminated against due to her “Fame & Fortune”. This is how I feel.
In response to all of those who say Paris Hilton was unfairly targeted, let me ask you this: do you think if she had been a young, black male she would have gotten less time? Right. Didn’t think so. Don’t knock on law and order when it actually does its job. Paris could have killed people on multiple occasions with her dangerous driving and is LUCKY that 45 days of jail time is all she got.
it was a great judgment to put her in jail… don’t think money can buy anything… she deserve it… the longer she’s in jail the better… to all people outside there… status is nothing… all people are the same…
