Nak kahwin tapi tiada duit? Tangguh kahwin sebab nak kumpul duit? These are the kinds of questions that I get asked a lot in my years in the wedding business. Yes it is really difficult to even think about marriage if you don’t have the money. The heart is soo willing but duitnya tak cukup..begitulah halnya..Sometimes sebab takut kekasihnya lari, BERTUNANG dahululah jawabnya. Tapi tunggu punya tunggu sebab nak cari duit punya pasal, sampai bertahun lamanya. Akhirnya si dia terpikat dengan yang lain yang lebih berada. Kecewanya bukan kepalang! When it comes to this, all the savings mean nothing anymore. Some prefer to continue savings but some prefer to blow it up on something expensive like car modifications, expensive holidays overseas etc. Well, my advice to you, is please don’t do something silly such as this. Yes I know it’s a huge disappointment and you just feel that you just want to kill yourself..but please don’t! It’s actually the more reason for you to become more successful in life to show to the other party how she actually has lost someone as valuable such as yourself. Show the world what you really got, become a real someone. Once you have become really succesful and rich, the girl will automatically follow..heheh..well, most of the time!

Sorry..enough of the side track..my point is, earning cash is easy. You just have to work hard for it! Stop sabotaging yourself by giving stupid excuses over and over again as to how you don’t have specific skills, specific knowledge or “saya tak pandai nak jumpa orang”, “saya takde kenderaan”, “dia lainlah, dia cantik, senang nak menjual”, “takde idea atau tak tau nak buat apa” or other thousands of other STUPID excuses NOT to start a side business to earn that extra cash. Oh yes, one of my favourites is “TAKDE DUIT NAK START BUSINESS lah FAYZ”..Sounds familiar? But somehow these are the very people who dare to dream to own a big house, drive a 5-series BMW and go on holidays in ROME, ITALY! Peliklah pulak!!

There are a couple of things that I learned from a guy called T Harv Eker, the author of the SECRETS OF THE MILLIONAIRE MIND. You may want to buy this book (click it and you will be brought to AMAZON UK BOOKSTORE) or if not you may just read the salient “GETTING RICH” points that I have summarised below:

  1. Rich people believe: “I create my life.” Poor people believe: “Life happens to me.” (This is HUGE. Every successful person I know is control of her life. Unhappy people are constantly complaining to me how this, that, or the other thing prevents them from doing something.)
  2. Rich people play the money game to win. Poor people play the money game to not lose.
  3. Rich people are committed to being rich. Poor people want to be rich.
  4. Rich people think big. Poor people think small.
  5. Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles and excuses
  6. Rich people admire other rich and successful people. Poor people resent rich and successful people. (This is important, too — it seems to hold true among my friends.)
  7. Rich people associate with positive, successful people. Poor people associate with negative or unsuccessful people. (Another important one.)
  8. Rich people are willing to promote themselves and their value. Poor people think negatively about selling and promotion.
  9. Rich people are bigger than their problems. Poor people are smaller than their problems.
  10. Rich people are excellent receivers. Poor people are poor receivers.
  11. Rich people choose to get paid based on results. Poor people choose to get paid based on time.
  12. Rich people think “both”. Poor people think “either/or”.
  13. Rich people focus on their net worth. Poor people focus on their working income.
  14. Rich people manage their money well. Poor people mismanage their money well.
  15. Rich people have their money work hard for them. Poor people work hard for their money.
  16. Rich people act in spite of fear. Poor people let fear stop them. (This is big for me right now. I’ve accomplished most of the goals I set for myself, and need to set some new ones. But I have this nagging fear, because I’m moving into the unknown. Eker says that successful people act in spite of this fear. They move beyond worry, they “fake it til they make it”, learning as they go. Unsuccessful people do nothing at all.)
  17. Rich people constantly learn and grow. Poor people think they already know.
