Coming out with a noir film in a society that is still having trouble to understand its own film identity is simply out of this world. I have full respect for Mamat Khalid in producing this movie. The movie has been in the cinema for a little over a week and it’s really interesting the way it’s being laid out and Mamat Khalid’s story-telling and characterisation proves that he’s no ordinary director and producer. His deep understanding of noir elements and expressionism are pretty obvious and up there with those from Hollywood. In fact I think they should invite him on board for Godfather 5.
In the style of Alfred Hitchcock, there is Rosyam Nor, the kampung hero and reporter. The story is about Rosyam Nor who was left stranded in a Kampung due to a punctured tyre. Then he met Cik Putih whom he immediately falls in love with. All is well and dandy for him until…What he doesn’t know about is that within the kampung lies a mysterious secret. One man will disappear every time there is a full moon…It is put down to PONTIANAK or JEMBALANG by Orang Kampung..Well is that true? Can’t be that predictable and straight-forward right..If not better off watching repeat episodes of P. Ramlee…It’s really really dark story..to know more..hope you’d go and watch it at your nearest theatre while it’s still on.. Hope this lil’ synopsis is enough to have you wet in your pants..hehe..

Best giler seh layan ceta ni..kita kena open up our mind. Aku pun tak ske filem Man Laksa & Zombie Kampung Pisang arahan abg Mamat Khalid tapi ceta Kala Malam Bulan Mengambang ni memang best! Lawak pun ada. Moralnya memang best lah! Kalah Suzuki Best. Bak kata Bront, “Barang lain boleh dijolok, sarang tebuan jangan dijolok.” Nyahahaha…

Setiap orang mempunyai pandangan berbeza..mungkin tahap pemikiran sesetengah orang masih belum dapat menerimanya. Mungkin Nana Tanjung, Anak Mami, Otai lebih mendapat tempat di hati. Dorang ni, ini belum lagi dihadapkan dengan art movie. Kalau dorang tengok, sure muntah darah punya..Moralnya, kebanyakan penonton kita masih belum pandai menghargai filem yang baik..lebih menghargai filem yang jelik.

Dapat kepuasan. Yelah, last kita tengok ceta black and white zaman bila? Pastu, itu jugaklah yang diulang tayang. Walaupun ceta ni dihasilkan di zaman moden, tapi ciri-ciri ceta black and film masih dikekalkan dan tak lari. Yelah, sedangkan yg cuba buat ceta pendekar pun kena kutuk, apatah lagi ceta black and white. Kalau Lelong hayati ceta ni bebetul, Lelong akan dapati sindiran dan kritikan abg Mamat terhadap beberapa perkara. Perasan tak masa dorang celebrate lepas berjaya tangkap geng Tangan Merah, there a line says, ” Tengok ar tu..buruk betul ORANG MELAYU KALAU MABUK,” yang mana dialog tu kena dan menggambarkan realiti sekarang.

Filem terbaik dari Mamat Khalid setakat ni.Aku setuju ngan Sazreena,org Melayu Malaysia ni aku rasa mmg tahap menonton cerita2 mcm tu la gamaknya.Ntah sampai bila nak berubah.Aku tengok ngan anak umur 11 tahun sampai dua kali.Anak perempuan aku yg umur 11 tahun tau memilih filem yg bagus utk ditonton.Syok gila,Tu la namanya seni=art.Filem ni penuh artistik.Syabas Mamat Khalid dan TU sebab berani beri peluang pada beliau.
