It’s tough deciding between the new HONDA ACCORD 2008 or TOYOTA CAMRY. They are priced competitively the same. HONDA CRV however is priced slightly higher for the 2 litre segment at RM 147,800. However without a doubt, HONDA ACCORD 2008 has one of the most impressive look to date from this Japanese manufacturer. This 8th Generation HONDA ACCORD is available in 3 variants at launch, with 2 locally assembled 2.0 liter and 2.4 liter variants, and a Thai-imported 3.5 liter V6 model. The engine under the hood of the Honda Accord 2.0 VTi is the new 2.0 liter R-series SOHC i-VTEC engine that was first introduced locally in the Honda CR-V. Installed in the Honda Accord’s engine bay, this engine puts out 156 PS at 6,300rpm and a peak torque of 189Nm at 4,300rpm. This is however is still lower than the latest BMW 320i SPORTS EDITION that has just been introduced by BMW MALAYSIA. This engine is matched to a 5-speed automatic transmission with dual overdrive ratios for better fuel economy.The 2.4 liter Honda Accord VTi-L model however is powered by the familiar K24 2.0 liter DOHC i-VTEC engine, but is now tuned to produce 180 PS, or 177 horsepower. This kicks in at 6,500rpm. Peak torque is now 222Nm at 4,300rpm, with 180Nm available from 1,600rpm and 200Nm available from 2000rpm. It is also mated to a 5-speed automatic, but the 2.4 liter also has the option of manual sequential shifting via paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel – flick the right paddle to upshift and the left paddle to downshift.

The new Accord’s chassis has been increased by 60mm, resulting in a long wheelbase of 2,800mm, compared to the Toyota Camry’s 2,775mm. The Accord’s dimensions of 4,945mm length, 1,845mm width and 1,475mm height are also longer, wider but 5mm taller the Camry’s 4,825mm length, 1,820mm width and 1,470mm height. The floor of the new 2008 Accord is now 15mm closer to the ground thanks to a redesigned exhaust routing layout, fuel tank design and thinner floor frame.

i got the accord 2.0 i vtec , my partner driving the camry2.4. i just received my new accord 2.4 this week, i let my partner drive the accord2.4, he find the different within the camry2.4 and accord2.4 – power and smooth when changing gear!

my father just bought it and i tried it before. Compare the power and smooth of engine, accord 2.4 is better than camry2.4.
In my opinion, honda accord 2008 looks nice compare to camry. Design and outlook is excellent.
By the way, my uncle just bought a camry2.4 simultaneously.

Booked 2.4 Accord for 4 months now just because i want the year 2009 make engine. Worth the wait. Tried the passenger seat back of accord and camry. Camry room height not enough for a six footed like myself. Accord didnt have this problem.

The Accord, Camry, Mazda6 and Mitsubishi are now considered seniors. With the economy, all manufacturers will be sticking with their Goreng Pisang and perhaps just add some extra icing on the cake untill the end of 2009.
Both the Accord and Camry are lovely cars. On the above 2.4 litre category, Mazda 6 outweights the competitor witch features than can only be compared to a BMW. But remember, BMW’s bhp is far greater than the two brands you mentioned. The safety features of a BMW can be compared on next to an F1 car.
I have been working for a BMW dealership for 20 years. Yes BMW today are economical, both in fuel consumption and maintanance. But even BMW AG is now nervous of the return of Japanese cars. With 4 cylinders, they can now produce up 2.5cc engine while BMW still relies on a six (for bhp).
You need bhp when driving on our highways. Malaysian drivers are exceptionally special. Even with 50 years of driving experience, they are not experienced at all. Unable to judge speed, braking distance and how does the law of physics work when you slam the brake at 200kph.
Anyway readers, I’ve seen the Mazda 6, Camry 2.4 and the Accord 2.4. In my opinion, M6 is light years ahead of Camry and Accord. While Accord has a slight advantage on the interior designs and the nitty gritty stuffs. Camry, has yet to change their concept on plastic. Btw., I drive a Camry and a MINI.

Pengalaman yang setakat ini memiliki kereta honda accord ialah:
1.Masalah brake judder.Masalah ini berlaku dimana akan rasa gegaran semasa braking terutamanya pada kelajuan 160kn/jam ke atas. Common problem for accord..ramai yang sudah kenaaar
2.Masalah rear sound kat belakang…
