While most of us are still complaining about the small cut that our Ministers are taking from the increase in oil prices and at the same time using luxurious government car to work, Minister for Domestic Affairs, Datuk Shahrir Samad has shown the humble side of him. He went to work from his home in Jalan Tunku to his office in Putrajaya by Express Rail Link or ERL.

Tracking the system: Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad arriving at the Express Rail Link station in Putrajaya yesterday, the second day he was trying public transport from his home in Jalan Tunku in Kuala Lumpur to his office in Putrajaya. His verdict after two days? “It’s not so convenient since there is no bus connection from my house to KL Sentral to take the ERL to Putrajaya. My wife has to send me to KL Sentral and my driver picks me up in Putrajaya. He will be bringing the matter up in the Cabinet today. Shahrir is a frequent user of ERL to KLIA.

p/s: the 10% cut that the ministers are taking is equivalent to what we as an individual has to pay extra for, for our fuel bill every month. In all fairness we could not expect them to pay for everyone in the country. Enough that what they as an individual feel the squeeze as what we as an individual is feeling.

I am hoping that they add additional coach to PUTRA LRT trains. At the moment we only have to coaches to cope with increasing passengers especially during peak hours. It has been like for more than 6 years. They should do something about it!
