Current women world No. 1 Xie Xingfang not only has won the hearts of the Chinese by winning most of the badmintone tournament matches but also Lin Dan’s. Both are great badminton players. Lin Dan is the world’s former Men Single No. 1 player before he fell to our very own Datuk Lee Chong Wei. However, Lin Dan is 2 years younger than Xie Xingfang. People usually believe that women aren’t granted with both beauty and wisdom. When you see Xie Xingfang, you know that she’s an exception. Then again, unless you can relate Anna Kournikova to wisdom, then you have another contender..
What really moved Xingfang were Lin’s words. “I remember the words he said to me that still move me today: “I’ll protect you with my achievement.’”, Xie recalls the words from Lin when their relationship was just settling. She was touched deeply at that time. “According to the rules of our team, it is not permitted to fall in love with a member who has not gained good accomplishment. So when Lin said he would achieve success to protect our love, I was really moved.”
