Getting Up Close and Personal with Tan Sri Taib Andak!

Taib Andak may have some familiar ring to it, thanks to Mawi and Que Haidar, two of the famous constituents of FELDA TAIB ANDAK. Tan Sri Taib bin Hj. Andak was the Chairman of MARA from 8 Jun 1967 to 31 Ogos 1967. Before that he was the Chairman of Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) under Tun Abdul Razak‘s administration where he had successfully lifted significant number of Malays out of poverty. Taib also headed Maybank for 12 years followed by an appointment as the Chairman of the Tropical Fish Culture Research Institute, as board member of Sime Darby and various other organizations.

His daughter, Kalsom Taib recently has launched a book this great man, called “Taib Andak, In A Class of His Own“. Taib Andak had furthered his studies in the UK, where he met Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia’s first Prime Minister. Taib had great influence on Tunku and the path that he was taking. Taib Andak shared the same heritage as mine as we are both of Bugis descendants and from Johor. Al-Fatihah.
