Revolving Tower of Menara Taming Sari, Melaka

In conjunction with Melaka as Historic City day today, we would like to bring you for a closer look of this city. So what’s to visit in Melaka? Travelling down to Melaka only takes about 1 hour and a half if you are from Kuala Lumpur. One of the main attractions in Melaka is Menara Taming Sari (Melaka Tower). It is the first and only gyro tower in Malaysia so far.  It measures 110 meters in height, and revolves 360° to provide a panoramic view of Malacca town and beyond. It was commercially opened on the 18th of April of 2008. Menara Taming Sari is located in Bandar Hilir, beside Dataran Pahlawan Megamall. The tower is named after the famous Taming Sari keris, a mythical magic weapon said to possess mystical powers belonging to the legendary Malay warrior, Hang Tuah. Even the structure’s design follows the shape of the keris, with the peak of the tower resembling the its hilt.

The Menara Taming Tower provides the opportunity for tourists to view the city of Melaka and beyond at a glance. Melaka has developed a lot in the last five years. The state government aims to capitalise fully its title as the most historic city in Malaysia. The state has no resources, so it can mostly count on its tourism revenue. Admission Fees for MyKad Holders

RM10 for adults, RM5 for children below 12 years old, and RM7 for senior citizens above 55 years old.

Admission Fees Visitors without MyKad

RM20 for adults, RM10 for children below 12 years old, and RM17 for senior citizens above 55 years old.

Operating hours: 10am to 10pm daily
