Some of us may be impressed with this self-proclaimed billionaire from Lebanon, Elie Youssef Najem. BUT some may treat him with loath. This claims he is the 3rd richest man in the world with billions of cash and in the business of construction, communications, banking and real estate. He even claims to the extent that he played a part in the construction of the Penang bridge.
When he claimed to be a lord and a prince, the Lebanese government said they didn’t know of any such royalty and that he had been convicted of cheque forgery in Lebanon. Canadian government also denied Elie as of its citizen.
Who would believe this guy? Well at least the two women who married him did. One sobered up and left him while the other, a Filipino, Rosalia Viray, 22, committed suicide. She was stark naked before her fall from their 14th floor apartment. Now he’s living in a 4-star hotel. He recently did the darnest thing by tipping a hotel staff USD500. Excited, the staff quickly go to the nearest money changer to exchange the money before finding it to be fake. Some police report later led to the capture of this conman.
A police team led by Insp Ridhwan Ani raided the hotel room at 12.05am on Jan 10 and discovered a black bag containing 60 US$1mil notes, 60 US$100,000 notes and 40 US$500 notes, all with a face value totalling US$66.2mil. I just hope fellow Malaysian can come to their senses quickly when it comes to things that are too good to be true. Read up the papers, keep yourself up-to-date, use common sense.
