TM has released the long awaited High Speed Broadband Service (HSBB) but availability is still limited. For a start they are only tackling selected areas in Kuala Lumpur and amongst the chosen areas are TTDI, Bangsar, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam and now, quite recently, it has spread to areas such as Datuk Keramat and Wangsa Maju and Nusajaya in Johor Bahru. My area will soon get this service. A lot has been said about the quality of service of Unifi. My streamyx speed is getting slower and from the rumours circulating around, TM is allocating more bandwidth to its Unifi service. I am not sure what will happen when the network gets congested when more people are on board with their service. Then again this is just speculation. The minimum speed on offer is 5 MBps and at the maximum speed available is 20 MBps. With Unifi’s package, you are not getting only the broadband for internet surfing but also several free TV Channels such as ChannelNews Asia and Fashion TV. From what I understand, this will not use up your monthly download usage limit. But, I was told, Unifi service comes with a 24-month contract.
